In fairness to Hogan, the decision to get out of the waste business by Dublin City Council is nothing to do with him. DCC is just the latest local authority to decide that the losses from their management of waste services are too high to bear any longer.

The result from SIPO is interesting though - the charge that Gormley was acting inappropriately was made quite frequently during this debacle.

Liveline today full of the crisis in waste management.

Minister Hogans next move.... "Poolbeg must be up and running A.S.A.P. due to crisis in waste"
Why did Minister Phil Hogan drop the independent review into planning irregularities within Dublin and Cork city councils and Carlow, Meath, Galway and Cork county councils ?
