That is bloody mad!
There is a place in Pennsylvania called Centralia.
See what underground anthracite fires did to that place.

Its only a chat, we ain't the world council.
In 2000 the Women's Institute in Britain gave Tony Blair the slow hand clap to demonstrate their contempt.
It was dignified, restrained and effective.Doesn't Bertie deserve the same scorn. No shouting, no abuse, no agression just a relentless slow clap whenever he speaks in public would be enough to end that man's presidential fantasy.

On an aside, I notice lately on P.ie that more and more posters are using wikipedia as a source.
Wikipedia is about as reliable as the Indo. It's not even acceptable as a source in Secondary schoo

(a) Fracking had absolutely nothing to do with that particular environmental disaster.
(b) There's no coal in Clare.

Sure there's proposed fracking in Leitrim(where I'm from) and Roscommon too, and both county councils did similar actions, but they don't mean sh*te until the Governmnet does something. And in all fairness, I don't see the point of poisoning our groundwater and destroying rural areas in the west just so a huge multinational makes a quick buck.

there is little that fracking would do to make roscommon any more of a landfill than it that it is at present. Leitrim however, should be protected

Jokes aside, I think you'd have another Corrib Gas protest in Leitrim/Roscommon if the government doesn't do something. And trust me, people here do not usually protest (They express their views privately or in a ballot box), so the fact that there would be protests should give you a clue as to how people here see things.
