Skerries county Dublin. Plenty of cafes and pubs. Swimming and great views.

A lonely seagull on the rocks. Drink that in.

Skerries where seals can often be seen close to shore.

The view from Joe May's pub in Skerries north county Dublin, where we had a nice lunch of toasted ham sandwiches and tea. Plenty of pleasant tourists knocking about the other day.

Swimming in the sea at Skerries back in the late 1960s I swam over a shoal of jelly fish and was stung repeatedly. A very scary and painful experience.

But that didn't stop me from returning time and again to bathe in the peculiar green sea. Lovely.

Often fished off the pier at howth way back in circa 1971. Would have eagerly fed Mackerel to the seals...if one had surfaced.
    Another nice photo!

Martello tower on a small island off Skerries.

(Junius today I baked a potatoe in the candle powered stove. Delicious and hot after being suspended in foil over the candles for just an hour. No soot on the foil! Room temp a balmy 75f)
