Clonmacnoise county Offaly a place I have been avoiding for decades. Nevertheless was impressed by the work done there by the OPW. Lovely location too.

There are times we get lost heading northwest after Slane. This was the case last Saturday as we meandered through unfamiliar drumlins towards Roscommon via Carrickmacross..

We are not too familiar with the area and had some frustrating detours. All the better to get a fuller picture of the locality, though.
