    Very high Sea Water temperatures

This is something I have noticed over the last few months. The sea water temperatures around Ireland have been way above the long term mean over the last year. The figures for April haven't been released yet but I would be very surprised if they don't show a 3 degree celsius deviation off the mean.

Worrying for fish stocks, but good for surfing!

Seeing that there has been such a huge interest in this thread I've decided to add this graphic (from Met Eireann) to give a clearer picture of what I am talking about. (It's interesting, honest)

Since July 06 the sea water temperatures have been way above normal, 2 degrees celsius consistantly. While I am not an expert on weather patterns or ocean currents, it does seem a huge deviation, and a consistant one.

Any wiser person out there who can shead some light on this anomoly?

Should be a bumper year for Bass.

They are - but usually deeper water.

Summer usually porbeagle, blue and if hot mako.

Blue will bite but mako is scary

Not sure about the great white but we do have sharks in Irish waters.
