    Students Against Climate Change

A peaceful demonstration will be held today outside the Dail and proceeding to the Dept of Environment. Meet at 1pm outside Dail Eireann if your interested in coming along. All are welcome. If your around UCD, there will be free buses leaving the Student Centre at 12:15pm today to bring us into town.

We are a group of students who are campaigning to put pressure on the Irish government to take action on climate change.

    Our aims:
    1. That a Climate Change Bill be put to the Dáil calling for a 3% annual reduction in Ireland's carbon emmissions.

    2. An end to the over-reliance on Carbon Trading -it has its place, but we need real cuts in CO2 emissions.

    3. A comprehensive strategy for investment in renewable energy.

There will be some political speakers at the event but this event is being run by this new group, with assistance from UCD Students Union.

    What do we want?
An end to the over-reliance on Carbon Trading!

    When do we want it?
It has its place, but we need real cuts in CO2 emissions!

    Seriously though guys, good luck!

I hope you're asking for speakers from Students for Climate Change so you have a balanced view. ;)

Seriously, though I'm pleased more people seem to be taking environmental issues to heart, 3% reduction annually is simply not enough in the short-to-medium term. Are you guys looking at TEQs/Cap & Share? You should be.

Volcano's emit colossal amounts of CO2, probably more than the total Ireland produces in a year.. 3% cuts are really splitting hairs.

Enjoy the march though, the weather should be nice!!

OK, it's Friday evening, I'm tired.

I still don't understand what good work you're referring to. No-one's done any good work that a volcano would ruin, as far as I can see.
