You really aren't making this easy for yourself, I merely asked you a question.

For those who think electric is no good.

The funny thing is - he's is strongly against the idea of climate change, so why would he give a toss about electric cars, whether they are efficient or not..?

It's not like we are going to have them issued to every one in the country.

    Angry, frustrated person.

    Rather bemusing.

For a moment I thought you had written amusing, not bemusing.
I have him on ignore. After a dozen or so posts, I found that he was just repeating the same old tripe over multiple topics. Almost like a bot. He hasn't added anything to any discussion.

I saw him quoted by someone a few post back saying something negative about using electric for off-roading. Now that was amusing because I've seen electric off-road machines and they are better at it than fuelers, full torque available from the start.

The one thing I didn't find interesting about electric cars up to recently was that they were merely a standard fueled car with the engine and fuel system replaced with electrics rather than designing the vehicle around the idea of electric power. Any Hybrids were more fueled car with electric as secondary motivation. Twould be better as hybrid to have the main propulsion as electric with a small fueled generator for in transit charging, similar to that Aptera concept. They claimed a 300mpg equivalent using diesel generator hybrid.

my main objection and probably also Tombo's is that is backward technology .
Electric cars have been with us for over a hundred years and they are still not a viable alternative to the internal combustion engine.
if I run out of petrol I simply walk to the nearest petrol station and get a gallon in a can. If an electric car stops when it runs out of charge it will be necessary to get it towed or to call out someone with some serious generating equipment

Or call into a local house..I wonder if there will be a cottage industry where people could give you a 30 minute charge for a fee..?

it takes about ~30 minutes to 80% at a 480 volt quick-charge station
