Dunno why you hate animals though, what did they ever do you you?
Don't hate them in the slightest.

Most of best meals I have had involved some element of animal in them and long may it continue.

I eat meat too. I don't boast about running down people's beloved pets though. You were badly bullied in school, weren't you?

Bluefin Tuna are worth about €20,000 on the open market. Even if the practice was made illegal, they would still be under threat. The continuing legality therefore, only increases their terminal decline.

@Odie, I'm very disappointed in you. The resurfacing of the 'so much for the housing slump' thread was uncalled for and unfair to you, and I defended you accordingly. Blasé and provocative remarks on threads like this diminish the quality of your posts. That being the case, how are any of us supposed to take you seriously when you post on something that's important to you?

By all accounts most species of Sturgeon are also on the verge of extinction - so its bye bye caviar as well.

Given that poaching of species such as elephants, rhinos, tigers et al is now out of control and likely to result in their extinction in the wild in the coming decades or sooner its hard to have much hope for marine species like sharks, Tuna etc. given how even more difficult it is to monitor and police whats going on in the worlds oceans
