2009 2nd warmest year on record

This is very bad news. Anything that confirms the reality of global warming is.

I posted a challenge numerous times in 2009 to the sceptics to do a month my month track of 2010 temperatures. I made a prediction that 2010 would be in the top 2 or 3 years on record, potentially even being the hottest year on record.

Surprisingly, not one of the "sKeptics" agreed to take up my challenge by making a prediction of their own, despite their unwavering conviction that global warming had stopped or gone into reverse

That is a lie. I guaranteed 2010 would be the hottest LAND temperatures on record. When the data is being fiddled by AGW fanatics it is easy to make such a prediction with absolute confidence

Sharper didn't say it was a record Jan he said it was a record month for ocean temperatures.

We're all talking about it being a record January, the only person who doesn't get that is you but then you're also the one who keeps trying to argue the difference between "2nd hottest this decade" and "2nd hottest since record began" when of course there is no difference.

SAT has no explanation for why the global sea temperatures have risen by at least 5 centimetres in the 14 years between 1994 and 2008, especially considering he doesn't believe glaciers are melting and thinks the oceans are cooling/no longer warming.

Fyi Sea level height is far from being an exact science. It is calculated from the formula SLtotal = SLsteric + SLmass. The mass is measured by Jason-1/Jason-2 with an error bar of 4 mm and the steric value comes from Argo with an error bar of 2.5 mm - 3.5 mm then there are the other best guess adjustments made such as for glacial isostatic rebound. As expected from a cooling ocean the steric SL value is falling. Steric SL by the way includes the thermal expansion YOU wrongly think is responsible for the currently claimed SL rise.

Given your posting history I can understand why you are easily confused. I will try to explain it simply so even you might be able to understand.

The data which showed cooling is the Argo data. These are sea buoys which dip down to get a 3 dimensional heat profile of the oceans. The data you keep heralding as proof of imminent Armageddon is largely land based data which I thought even you would have worked out by now I, (and most other people with even an ounce of intelligence) have zero confidence in, and as I explained in the thread running parallel to this one surface temperatures are totally irrelevant any way.

You seem to be having a little trouble with your reading comprehension. Sharper didn't say it was a record Jan he said it was a record month for ocean temperatures. If you still don't understand the difference perhaps a very patient friend could explain it to you.
