I have to say those Aldi fatballs are going down a treat with the birds here. They love them and are devouring them. Other fatballs from other stores don't go as quickly. Fatballs from one store, which I'm sure I can't mention, have gone untouched or only touched as a last resort by divebombing magpies, crows and ravens.

They're going through 6 to 8 of them a day here, in addition to all the other seeds and peanuts...
We all love animals. Why do we call some 'pets' and others 'dinner'?

Mine are doing justice to the seed. I didn't get the fat balls because they hadn't the 500g size. Glad your lot are enjoying the bounty.

Reminds me of my youth in Coppers......nice to see that male intelligence can be similar throughout the species!!!

We were in Aldi on sunday, was most impressed with the range on offer.
We have been refilling our nut holders every day. Its Great to see the birds feeding, but they cant half eat.

I would feed birds if only they had nicer names for the bird feed things. I'll leave it to my Dad until I have my own garden. Keep up the good work.

Two cock blackbirds have been chasing a hen all around my place this morning (ignoring soaked raisins and grated cheese!) The RSPB site says their mating season is early March but mine seem to have gotten in on the Valentines Day bug a tad early.

Well the redwings are still living in Cork,

Were they here all the time and i just didn`t see them.

Did they leave during the balmy spell and as they flew north into more cold weather, decide to return.

Or did they think, "that Cork is a fine place and we must be mad to move, lets go back too Pana"
