No, Y2K was a complete scaremonger's picnic, depsite hte consensus of impending doom.

If you worked in IT, you wouldn't say that. I made several coding changes to prevent this Y2K problem. Many companies ran rigorous tests to ensure that there wouldn't be a Y2K problem. It is not that the problem didn't exist in the first place. It most certainly did.

If I'm take the position of andrejsv and yourself in conjunction then human C02 emissions are being completely absorbed by biomass while at the same time the oceans are releasing C02 foe reasons unrelated to human activity. These are quite startling claims and you'd think you'd have something to back it with.

I might agree that it's warming up, but I don't agree that the increase in temperature is man made. Aren't we very uppity in ourselves thinking that such a miniscule lifeform has that effect on the wonder that is Nature ?

While I like a bit of humility you are taking it too far. Do you know how the 20% of the atmosphere that is oxygen got there? Very, very minuscule lifeforms.

andrejsv is the one asserting atmospheric increases are due to the oceans, I'm waiting for some sort of source on that. Assuming you disagree with that statement I find it odd you didn't take it up with him.
