    3 Cheers for Pat Kenny

Pat Kenny cutting John Gibbons in 2 now on Radio 1.

    I love it!

    Pat Kenny for President.
Cowardice asks the question - is it safe? Expediency asks the question - is it politic?
Vanity asks the question - is it popular? But Conscience asks the question - is it right?
And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular;but one must take it simply because it is right. -MLK

In fairness to Gibbon- he was right to question Kenny's lack of objectivity-

but your right- Gibbon is not helping his case by clucthing at arguments left right and centre-

obviously though he is passionate that a minority view is getting 50/50 weighting in the debate-

As did the no side in Lisbon.

In fact he just said 98% of scientists beleive in Manmade climate change. The 2% disbelievers are getting too much time on air to be honest

All very well, and I'm not a climate change sceptic myself (not that I'm hugely qualified to judge the arguments) but Gibbon's extraordinarily arrogant and insulting attitude would get up anyone's nose. He strayed very close to the libellous on more than one occasion - not only towards his opponent but towards Kenny too. If someone on "Liveline" went so far there's be ructions!

Although not qualified to give any kind of expert opinion on climate change I am a growing skeptic on its merits. But the conduct of that guy who writes in the Irish Times reeks to me of a charlatan being found out really badly. That is just my impression from his performance without having any expert knowledge.

Actually he said '98% of qualified scientists'. Now if you decided that any twat who's paycheck depends on promoting climate change as a qualified scientist, while those who disagree aren't, then it is easy to created whatever 'consensus' you want.

Gibbins sounds like a fundamentalist. He decides not to read a book written by a climate change skeptic, he instead relies on what the 'elders' in his religion have to say about it. That is religious fundamentalism 101.

Gibbons sidestepped any awkward questions. Gibbons has no formal scientific training. He's just a journalist who only writes in favour of the IPCC's side of the argument.

What must have hurt him was when Gibbons asked Pat how many of his columns he has read in the Irish Times, and Kenny replied politely, "I am not a fan".

.....uuuhh, a stake right through the heart.

Pat Kenny jumps straight into No.1 spot for "Partiot of the Year" award.

Gibbon's and his facist shrill performance should warrant his removal from The Irish Times

    the shrill has been exposed.

Why exactly does this clown have a soap box provided to spout his point of view (and dress it up as authoritative).

    A flippin' "healthcare journalist".

    About us

Why would anyone read his columns if they wanted to learn aobut the issues of climate? That is the question I would have liked Kenny to ask.

I would also be sceptical on the causes of climate change but I think there may be a bit of personal interest between Kenny and Gibbons. I would love to see Pat Kenny question a Government minister with the same passion as he questioned Gibbons today.

I get the feeling that Pat Kenny does not suffer fools gladly. Gibbons fits as the anathema to any good journalist. He is a complete credulist.
