The debate is about 'cause'. And the threat from AGW is global governmant and taxation, and if you can't see that, you may be one of the simpletons you describe.
Yeah, it'll take time to unfold and we get a better angle on the ins and out of it from more informed sources that me. But it's a really interesting story....pushed the WC out of my head
I have been reading through the emails, I love "Mikes nature trick" putting two sets of data together in order to show the desired result! They were also very concerned that "the link between long term changes in treelines and the lack of very long term evidence of climate change in our ring width and density chronologies." The whole tone of the mails is not what anyone who has ever done research with colleagues via mail and shared documents sounds like.
I am now printing out the entire thing, and emailing it to various persons at NUIM (my college). I don't study science, but I know some scientists who are skeptical of the establishment (manufactured) view... one guy in Particular, a dutch physicist -look him up- is bound to find out, but it's better he hear it from his own students. I wonder how will scientists react though, how blatantly obvious can the lies get before they finally DO something about it, and to hell with career, money, threats, ridicule etc. Even is a minority of scientists stand up and fight the establishment view tooth and nail, it might just begin the process of real change.
I wonder will the hackers be arrested and labeled 'terror-ists', Bish Jnr. style? But then would they want the publicity of a trial... if there is a trial, they're don't have to have them now if it's called terrorism.
