It's stupid because given any situation, anyone is capable of anything.

the only reason you frame it that way is because you want to shift the burdon of proof.

The real question is 'did nasa deliberately fake evidence' in which case you;d have to show proof that nasa deliberately faked evidence, but you can't, so you turn it around, and ask us to prove that nasa would not fake evidence.

Take your post above for example. You call my question stupid because you are ignorant of the fact that NASA was famously caught red-handed faking evidence at the request of the CIA which anyone who knows anything about the history of NASA would know. Ooops, but you obviously didn't know. Guess who that makes stupid!

You didn't even have the sense to google "NASA fake" before shooting your mouth off and exhibiting your ignorance for all to see.

After Francis Gary Powers was shot down over the Soviet Union during a CIA spy flight on 1 May 1960, NASA issued a press release with a cover story about a U-2 conducting weather research that may have strayed off course after the pilot "reported difficulties with his oxygen equipment."

To bolster the cover-up, a U-2 was quickly painted in NASA markings, with a fictitious NASA serial number, and put on display for the news media at the NASA Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base on 6 May 1960. The next day, Soviet Premier Nikita Kruschev exposed the cover-up by revealing that the pilot had been captured, and espionage equipment had been recovered from the wreckage.

so you're claming that NASA may have deliberately faked evidence of global warming? because the CIA told them to?

I said in my last post that anyone is capable of anything in certain circumstances. in your example, it was a government agency assisting in the production of some propaganda during a war.

You are implying that because they did that, that they are likely to have deliberately faked evidence of other things too.

It is a non sequitur. it does not follow.

If America was a gung ho pro global warming nation then it would have some credibility (ie, is ideology driving the science instead of science driving the ideology) but it's the opposite. The U.S. government has been opposing action to limit climate change for decades.

NASA are as authoritative a source on AGW as there is. On the other hand, you are happy to post data from the blogger Anthony Watts and the 'Heartland Institute" without ever challenging them for bias or accuracy.
