Bord Pleanála warns on relaxing planning rules - The Irish Times - Thu, Oct 15, 2009
Well what do you think ?At a press briefing yesterday on the board’s 2008 annual report, John O’Connor also said the “excessive and unsustainable zoning of land” that contributed to the property bubble would have to be tackled by local authorities.
“If we are to return to realistic development planning, some of this land will have to be dezoned, and facing up to this has a part to play in deflating the bubble,” he said, adding that this would apply “irrespective of whether it’s in the hands of Nama or not”
Will The relevant Local Authorities Dezone land.
If they don't take the bull by the horns on the DeZoning Issue before NAMA goes through there will be all kinds of abuse of these 2 areas.
How about people listing areas that need to have some lands dezoned to show the extent of the problem.
North Tipperary Co Co definitely has lands that were zoned in recent local Area plans and the County Development Plan that fit perfectly into the category of “excessive and unsustainable zoning of land”
I see already that a clique of little ferrets of councillors are proposing to eliminate all mention and possibility of Dezoning in the current draft of the County Development Plan 2010-2016.
which of course they are rushing ahead prior to the publication of the final Mid West Regional Planning Guidelines as it has some pretty bleak predictions on whats going to happen to a lot of the commercial and retail space currently zoned and also built on.
“Draft guidelines on planning in midwest”
Draft guidelines on planning in midwest - The Irish Times - Wed, Oct 07, 2009
• "THE AMOUNT of large-scale retail development built or submitted for the midwest meets all requirements for the next 13 years. That is one of the findings contained in the midwest draft regional planning guidelines 2010-2022,”
also:
• “ further inappropriate retail development will inevitably have detrimental impacts on some existing established retail areas and that these impacts may be irreversible.”
also:
• “other centres would also be likely to suffer significant damage over time giving rise to vacancy, decay and ultimately dereliction”.
also:
• “More than 2,500 hectares of land is zoned for residential development, capable of accommodating over 100,000 homes or nearly double the anticipated demand, not taking into account development that may take place in smaller settlements with no zoned land and in the countryside.”
there are also amendments to the CDP to ensure that permission for Industrial usage can be given on lands that are currently zoned as commercial, business and even on lands currently zoned Residential.
Thanks Cllr. John Carroll.(FF)
His reason/excuse is to "maintain vibrant communities" ok John pull the other one
I see exactly what your at and i will stay on this issue so the truth is known what your sneakily trying to do.
The way you were dropping amendments in the latest draft is truly sinister and despicable.
(As per "Adjourned Special Meeting" of north Tipperary County Council August 27th 2009)
http://www.tipperarynorth.ie/docs/Yo...ust%202009.pdf
He also wanted to change "Traffic Hazard" to a "significant traffic hazard"
How significant of a traffic hazard would you like to see Councillor John Carroll.
There is a clique within North Tipperary County Council that are still at itin regards to Rezoning excessive amounts of land.
The "One Trick Pony Club" zone, zone, zone,
shure its all they know.
Its business as Usual in North Tipperary County Council.
Wake up North Tipperary !!!
