When did warming caused by humans start?
How much of it occured?
When did the CO2 levels we produced reach a level to cause this?
oh look. you're famous.

No, What can't we explain?

There is more than enough material out there to explain AGW theory and to counter the legitimate questions by skeptics.

Unfortunately, the deniers have no interest in the truth, so they constantly repeat the same discredited arguments over and over again. The debate is over unless someone comes up with new evidence

Hey Akrasia, where are all those hurricanes you assured me I was going to be hit with this year. Not a single one yet has come within an asses roar.

How cold does it have to get before you admit you are wrong.

It has being snowing already in the Rockies. This winter will be even colder than last.

the debate never started because you refuse to have one. I give up asking anyone who believes in this myth to explain it. I might as well ask some nut when god buried the dinosaurs for us.

You dont know the answer to the most basic questions, but you know you are right.

I am going to burn a tire in the back garden.

Arrogance coming from someone who doesn't know the difference between weather and climate.

And this year has been a very active tropical storm season (killing hundreds of people), it's just that most of the storms have been in the pacific ocean so far and thus are not called hurricanes.

Youngdan seems to think that if something isn't happening right in front of him, then it's not happening at all

Regarding humanitys waking up (finally) in our AGE OF STUPID

Strange strange times indeed on our little planet earth and her 6+ billion inhabitants of the human species...

Anyway, this week, 2 major things happened:
The Global Wake-Up Call + AGE OF STUPID

- The Global Wake-Up Call 210909

On 21 September 2009, at more than 2600 events in 135 countries across the globe, we joined together to issue a deafening wake-up call to world leaders on climate change. The breadth and creativity of events is breathtaking, and our message broke through to leaders and international media.

The Global Wake-Up Call 210909 - 2682 events, 135 countries, 5 continents

- AGE OF STUPID 220909

The Age of Stupid is a 2009 film by Franny Armstrong, director of McLibel & founder of 10:10, and John Battsek, producer of One Day in September. The film is a drama-documentary-animation hybrid which stars Pete Postlethwaite as the last person alive in the devastated world of 2055, watching archive footage from 2008 and asking: why didn't we stop climate change when we had the chance?

The film was released internationally on 21 September and 22 September at the "Global Premiere". A green carpet, solar-powered cinema tent in New York was linked by satellite to 442 cinemas across the USA and to more than 200 cinemas in more than 45 other countries. Special guests included Kofi Annan, Pete Postlethwaite and Gillian Anderson. Popular musicians Moby and Thom Yorke performed live.

'The Age of Stupid' is the new cinema documentary from the Director of 'McLibel' and the Producer of the Oscar-winning 'One Day in September'. This enormously ambitious drama-documentary-animation hybrid stars Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite as an old man living in the devastated world of 2055, watching 'archive' footage from 2008 and asking: why didn't we stop climate change while we had the chance?

SOME REVIEWS:

The Guardian (UK) : "The first successful dramatisation of climate change to reach the big screen."

Nature : "[The film] largely avoids talking heads, lengthy BBC-accented voiceovers, and other stifling staples of many documentaries. The pace is taut and the portraits intimate and playful, with an eye for gem-like moments of absurdity."

The Sun (UK) : "Predictions from exctinction movie already happening in real life."

The Ecologist magazine : “Fantastic. Knocks spots off An Inconvenient Truth”

New Statesman : “Anything but a good-guys-versus-bad-guys polemic. It is angry but nuanced, despairing but strangely motivating.”
Galway are showing this film for free soon, great oportunity to take this debate from the net to the real world...

I'm talking about the wider debate within the scientific community. That debate is over. A debate on a politics website is not going to change anything.

You keep pretending that you're some kind of neutral 'undecided' observer, but you're clearly someone who believes that Anthroprogenic Global Warming is not real and have no interest in finding out the facts of the matter. It's a matter of extreme urgency. We don't have time to wait for everyone's paranoid conspiracy theories to be debunked before taking the appropriate action.

You dont know the answer to the most basic questions, but you know you are right.

I am going to burn a tire in the back garden.
I do not think I am right. I am not qualified to make that assesment, nor are you, or the vast majority of the deniers. I believe the overwhelming scientific consensus. I have looked at the evidence provided that supports AGW and it is consistent, while the anti global warming lobby provide nothing of substance, only conjecture and misrepresentation of the existing data.

If someone wants to challenge the current consensus, they'll need to provide convincing evidence and I haven't seen anything like that from the denial side.

I know the difference between hot and cold.

You are the one that wanted to take my bet when I predicted we would have the quietest hurricane season on record. Just send me the 100 euro now because it would not surprise me if we had ZERO hurricanes hitting land.

Are you expecting a warm winter?

You guys preaching your warming religion should just give it a break.

There is no warming. There is actually freezing.

Where is Ibis, has he become an athiest. He promised me the sea would be above the Statue of Liberty by now.

Seriously. Al Gore has made a billion dollars off ye clowns already. How many jets does he need.

interesting that the british legal system agreed with the 6 greenpeace activists in their use of the interesting legal idea of "lawful intent" when they had top NASA climate change scientists give the global warming pitch, they also outlined the effects of change, and with that argued that they were right to shut down, for a while anyway, the kingsnorth station in uk, where last years climate camp was.

It would seem that in the courts they had much the same debate that is existing here, and quess who won.

watch the doc, check the facts on the guardians excellent archive system of vids and news.

A Time Comes: The story of the Kingsnorth Six

Acclaimed film-maker Nick Broomfield's documentary about the 'Kingsnorth Six', the environmental activists who scaled a tower at a coal-fired power station in protest against pollution in 2007. The resulting court case drew support for them from leading scientists, and their subsequent acquittal proved historic and changed government policy.

direct action gets results: finally people debate, learn facts, join the movement...
