Dail chamber set to be adapted for wheelchairs

THE Dail chamber is being adapted for wheelchairs as Leinster House gears up for disabled candidates possibly taking a seat in next year's general election.

Two wheelchair occupants will be standing in the election, and both have more than a fair chance of making the 30th Dail. - Irish Independent

There's going to be one accessible seat on the Government side and one on the Opposistion side. Anyone care to bet that the first time there are two wheelchair users in the Dáil, they'll both be on the same side?

    It's about time.

All areas of public life should be fully accessible to any citizen.

    Don't be silly Bog!

What I mean is that wheelchair users, guide dog users etc.. should be accomodated in public buildings.

The disability act in the 26 covers this.
