Ever thought what this could mean for the next Dail. There is a hugh number of Eastern Europeans all entitled to vote.

Heavy words are so lightly thrown.
Anyway, just because an immigrant is an immigrant, it doesn't follow that he'll automatically vote for an "immigrant party". He may wish to assimilate into society here, and thus join or support an Irish party that best reflects his views. Also, while we tend to lump immigrants into one homogenous group, they would not all wish to be categorised in that way. A Polish immigrant, for example, might feel no affinity with a Rumanian, Brazilian or Nigerian "immigrant candidate", and hence be no more inclined to vote for that candidate than for anyone else. Also, what specific issues would this party be distinctive on?

I think it's fair to say that if an immigrant candidate was returned, largely on immigrant issues via immigrant support, then they would make the interests of immigrants in their constituency their primary focus. That's short-changing the Irish people in their constituency. In my opinion the primary focus of all Irish politicians should be the welfare of the Irish people and immigrants therefore, shouldn't be allowed to vote in any sort of election here.

There are no implications for the Dail as they only have votes for the Locals and EP elections (obviously only if their country is a member state).
Might be nice if we had a non-immigrant party too!
The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end; there it is.
