Oh and I forgot to mention the sewage tank has been blocked the last week, so you need to go out with the rods and unblock it...

Anyone heard the old joke about marriage?

"A woman marries a man, expecting that he'll change, but he doesn't. A man marries a woman, expecting that she won't change, but she does"

There'll always be a need for divorce, so long as people get married without understanding this.

Yeah, I've noticed an increased no. Of female posters recently. long may it continue. Btw for the poster who said there would be uproar if such things were said on p.ie about women- they are, all the time. In fact some of us have been known to refer to this forum as misogyny.ie. I'd say we are second only to immigrants in the amount of bashing going on here normally.

I'm both sorry and disappointed to hear that and if I came across threads like that, I would take issue with it. The one thing I would say about arguing with a misogynist is that more often than not it can be a pointless task as their point of view is deep-rooted and very little you can say will change it. I know it's a depressing thought really but I think this situation is improving a little especially among younger people.

Secondly, the more female posters on P.ie the better the forum will be. This site should be as broadly representative of society as possible and not be an exclusive domain. So keep on posting is all I can I say and try not too get too disheartened.

I won't. I tried mind you. Went of in high dudgeon a few months ago during a particurally nasty bout of misogynist threads. I only lasted two weeks. I'm addicted to this bloody site for all it's faults.

You are correct about not changing the point of view of such people. It's the same with anyone who is fundamentally "anti" any specific group of people - be it women, immigrants, gays, "Brits" etc. Some people need scapegoats like the rest of us need oxygen. A lot of the time I ignore such threads but sometimes you have to drop in - if only to show newbies that not everyone on p.ie is a raving bigot.

Oh is this the p.ie MOPEry contest. Can I submit a Southern Unionist entry?
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.

I've remembered - that troll was Patrick Bateman. Admit it Tompatrick and quit your messing. It's juvenile.
