    FF in Opposition

Who will lead the remnants of FF in the Dail after their date with destiny?

I don’t think they will be in opposition after the next election, it will be a FF & Lab government.
Just as an aside, and I don’t want to turn this into another Shinner thread, but if the current talks at Stormont break down, and some sort of joint authority is be planned, it is essential from my point of view that Rabbitte and Kenny are not in power during this period, might mean SF supporting a FF minority government in order to stop this happening?

We all know Rabbitte's views on the north, but what about Kenny? Has he ever said anything much on the subject? I heard the old Bruton loyalists consider him one of theirs, but is there any real basis to that?

I doubt that. Both that FF will be in opposition or that Cowen would be a great leader while there.

well, I'm hoping it aint the case....but when the s**t hits the fan, Cowen is the one with the courage to provide leadership. His ability to argue coherently on policy is second to none.

While I acknowledge that FF would be moderately less myopic in relation to the Peace process than FF, I do not think that is sufficient grounds to root for either to win. In relation to the North; yes I would be more satisfied with an FF led government but at the same token an FG government with Labour and the greens would be less objectionable than an FF government with the PDs as minor partner. (granted FF/Labour would be a more likely scenario)
Whether SF would support an FF minority Government would be a matter for the party to decide at an Ard-Fheis. To my mind, it isn't too far a step from supporting such an arrangement to actually being in government with them; so I imagine it wouldn't be as straight forward as people might think.

No Jim. He said Sinn Fein. There is no such entity as Sinn fein/ira.

Would personnally be opposed to supporting a FF led minority government any way.
