Doherty if he runs. I don't see McBrearty making headway. FG would need to run another 'Bosco' candidate, a la Dublin South, to make it. And if FF run Packie, that'll be a null ticket anyway.
I still reckon we'll see a GE first, though.

I think JC may well be correct. If not its a FF vs SF showdown with FGers having to pick a transfer between, in their eyes, the devil or satan. Could be the first election in Ireland with no second prefs to count. T'will be like FPTP.

Maybe Sinn Fein could run P O'Neill - he hasn't been up to much lately.

The seat will go to the opposition - take your pick from FG/SF/Labour. I'd put Pearse Doherty in the poll position myself.
Labour??? Do you know where this is?

FF To top the poll. Brian o Domhnaill
    Followed by o Neill
    Then Doherty.
Mc Brearty too far East to make any head way.

Somebody please check me in somewhere if FF manage to top the poll in any constituency at the next GE - if it happens it'll only be a figment of my imagination.

Sounds right. O'Neill to win on transfers.

Donegal South-West is about the only place in Ireland where FF could still top a poll. But then, this is the place that voted Mary Coughlan into the Dail so if FF stick a sticker on a donkey, we can expect another jackass in the Dail. What a wretchedly impoverished place.
