    Declan Ganley-An Appreciation.

This thread is for people who like Mr Ganley and feel he made an important contribution to Irish politics. While he was unsuccessful by a small margin in his bid to become an MEP, I wish him well as he retires to his mansion and millions of Euros. Hopefully we have not heard the last of him in Irish politics.

This thread is also open to appreciators of Mary Lou McDonald and Kathy Sinnott.

NB. Left-wing haters and EU federalists not welcome. (BTW, We still won the Lisbon referendum, don't ever forget it!).

I appreciate John Paul Phelan and Caroline Simons. Will I have to set up my own thread to express this?

mlm has not gone away you know.
My lasting image of sinnot is wearing a silly jumper and sitting with ukip talking about respecting Ireland.
    Now ganley...
He brought a respectability to the no campaign. He also showed that there is a vacancy for a rightwing party in this state and it is good to shake up the cosy cartel and ruling class. He is also an example of how influential money is in politics. Personally he is probably a creep but Irish politics is the better for his short intervention.
If the banks are out for a bail,
and Lenny's efforts end up as a fail,
    when the Somer does come,
    to the Country they'll run,
And leave a Fine mess for the Gael.

Endinf the one Party (FF) state:

I appreciate the fact that he has left politics.

Now we can campaign against Lisbon without being associated with neo liberal pro-torture xenophobic homophobes.

maybe today is a day for appreciating mr. ganley's efforts sincerely rather than in your immature post. no matter what you think of his politics or how jealous you are of his money, you have to admire him for his courage and his dignity. how many of us would be willing to stand up to the estatlishment in the way that he has?
