Anybody who strikes fear in the cosy little cartel that is irish politics, which ganley clearly did deserves respect in my book. There's room for a right wing party out there no doubt about it.

    That would be weird.

The BNP think the Irish are sub-human.

Yes, goodbye to our last chance at freedom.

All we are stuck with now is Fianna Fail gombeens. How lucky we are.

200 billion debt here we come, say hello to 800,000 unemployed and Martin Cullen and co in government for ever it seems.

And Fianna Fail are now joining the Liberals in the EU parliament where they will vote for more immigration into Ireland. Ahern wasn't joking when he said they are a socialist party.

For a Watford baldie, he had balls. Didn't agree with his politics but didn't like the smear jobs by obsessives either. Over-reached massively, his ego got the better of him, hubris followed by nemesis. But he made an impact, brought an important section of the no vote over for the referendum, and made an effort at shaking up the sick political system here. Libertas is finished as a political force, though there is room for it as a pressure group of some sort. I'm glad that the 'no' campaign can now stop in-fighting and unite to defeat the re-run, but I'm not dancing for joy that the 'system' succeeded in defending the status quo against a challenge to its smug complacency, however wrong-headed that challenger's prescription was. Hope he finds happiness away from politics for himself and his family anyway...

Great that Joe Higgins got in, though...
