    "Coughlan is clueless and inept"

...according to a Fianna Fail councillor:

FF councillors angry with leadership for throwing them 'to the wolves' - The Irish Times - Mon, Jun 08, 2009

“Coughlan is clueless and inept. You just don’t let her out. You don’t want her on the door for fear of what she might say. When did you see her out during the campaign?” one Dublin councillor fumed yesterday.
It was hilarious how blatantly hidden she's been for the last couple of weeks. I imagine her sequested in a hotel room, like Joe Pesci's character in "Lethal Weapon 2": "Hey, I didn't order a hamburger - I ordered eggs!"

So does anyone know if Cowen will hang onto her out of loyalty and/or pig-headedness? Or will he do to her what Ottoman sultans did to unpopular grand viziers?

She probably has some ability at a certain level but is in way over her head.

Cowen just wanted a senior woman in FF but she make Hanafin look like a brainiac.

He must know she is a liabiliy and decisions like appointing her are helping former FFrs like me now become FGrs.

Cowan's first decision was to make Coughlan Tanaiste. It's been all downhill since then. She is a total disaster. It is a damning indictment of Biffo's judgement that he made this walking accident Tanaiste. It says even more that she is still there long after proving her upper level capacity is the fixing of potholes in Dunkineely.

Besides Coughlan what other reasons made you switch?

Failure to tackle the massive public sector paybill is the main one.

Also - failure to send any of the bankers to jail or to take the personal assets of the developers.

Finally - failure to cut/eliminate minimum wage, cut social welfare.

Bernard Madoff was arrested last December, he has since been tried, convicted and will be sentenced June 29th - all within 6 months!

Well, there's one good thing that Coughlan gave us - the great "Sweary Mary" sketches on "The Emergency":
