Galway Bay FM:Gallagher,Higgins,Harkin certain to win.

Tally figures following the distribution of McLaughlin's,Mooney's,O'Reilly's and lesser candidates show the following, according to GBFM'S Reporter at the count centre:
    Pat the Cope -110,000
    Jim Higgins -108,000
    Marian Harkin -107,000
    Declan Ganley -77,000

So it looks like that's the top 3 certain of election.

Much as I dislike those three - I dislike Ganley even more and hopefully this will send him back to his 'military industrial complex' bunker never to be heard from again.

Ouch. Ungrateful Shinners after Simon's getting MLM in in Dublin. Bah.

Maybe the Unionists are right. They want power without preconditions.

I will listen for an update at 4pm. GBFM have been giving blanket coverage to the elections,so unless there has been a massive screw up with the tallymen it looks like it's all done and dusted.

I would say this is correct, this broadly in line with what some exit polls have been saying.
'A defeatist attitude now would surely lead to defeat, it primarly a question of whether we have confidence in ourselves and the dilligence and determination of our people,We can't opt out of the future.' Sean Lemass (1965)
