    Ballot papers

Casting d'aul Vote on 5th June, I noticed obviously all the Party Logos down the left and the Blank Spaces for Indos/Non Party Candidates also on the left where a Logo would otherwise reside. I noticed this last time out voting as well (and prob before that etc) but took more notice this time.

It's not clever to do this. this blank Box should contain wording like Non Party/whatever.

Take the case of someone intending to vote for a Non Party Candidate. Murphy's Law inevitably dictates that some folk will stick 1 or 2 or 3 etc into this blank Box to the left. Now they may be the exception but it inevitably will happen and that leads to a spoilt vote.

This is a very easy thing to resolve. All future Ballot Papers should have "Non Party" in the Box to the left of an Indos/Non Party Candidate's Name where otherwise a Party Logo would go.

There were a few of those votes in the boxes I was tallying, and they were disputed but eventually let in by the returning officer - cler indication of voting preference.

Tks for that! .... All the more reason why something should be inserted in the logo area to prevent this and no chances of disputes arising at all then.

I noticed in yesterday's Tribune, that in the East euro constit, the photos of the non-party candidates were all missing as well.

What's going on there? It seems odd that all three of them were unable to provide a suitable photo of themselves.

BTW. It's gas that the ballots where the number was put in the wrong place were challenged. What a bunch of chancers
