Sinn Fein: the only Irish party not to field foreign candidates in local elections-

although they may have British candidates from the North running in the South right?

Campaign Watch An example to the big boys (and girls)

Interesting, every other party has adapted to a changing Ireland-

Is it that Sinn Fein dont appeal to an ordinary migrant worker-

Or that the party chose not to field any applicants???

In fairness to the lads canvassing they are new members to the party and unlike other parties where membership is only a sideline requirement to seek nomination they have embraced party policy on workers rights freedom of movement around the eu and entitlements of members to remain in the country of their choice. They are selling this message among their own community with a view to furthering their integration over the lifetime of the next local councils.

SF know full well that their loony policies on Mass Immigration go down like a lead balloon with Irish Workers

    - hence they now avoid the issue like the plague ....

Compare their current stance (silence is golden) with their opposition to the 'Racist Referendum'

and the idiots from Dublin SF outside St Patrick's Cathedral cheer leading on the Afghan Asylum scammers within as local inner city residents picketed this carry on.

There are a fair few non irish born candidates standing for Sinn Féin. They are mainly however it would be true to say they are of Irish parentage.

Maybe they didn't have a good enough candidate from non-Irish lineage. No point having one just for the sake of it.

Just shows how an antiquated and archaic party can't diversify.

Thats my point. How come every other party found great new irish candidates. Is it sinn fein problem that they dont attract new irish members. Or is it that party chiefs feel immigrants wont sell image of catholic nationalist ireland that is at core of sf image? Oh and the natural working class hostililty to immigrants that exists according to alot of posters on this site that i dont personally agree with.
