CSO to deal election day blow to FF

The CSO are due to release the May live register figures on June 5th, the day of the elections. The data is released at 11am in the morning and will be headlining every news bulletin on every TV and radio station from noon barring some natural disaster somewhere. Only a small portion of the electorate will have voted by lunchtime. With the election news blackout on the day and the fact that the live register total is likely to exceed 400k for the first time in the history of State voting will be taking place against this grim news backdrop for the government without any ability to respond on the day. In fact, I reckon that with record live register figures headlining every news broadcast this may well prompt voters to turnout who may have otherwise not done so, and its not for FF they will be turning out to vote for!

Someone at the CSO is not going to be popular with their political bosses when they finally cop on to the date that the live register data is being released.

What are the odds on a technical, administrative or other glitch, delaying them to the Monday?
If the banks are out for a bail,
and Lenny's efforts end up as a fail,
    when the Somer does come,
    to the Country they'll run,
And leave a Fine mess for the Gael.

Endinf the one Party (FF) state:

Ahh it is great when the timing is right.
Interesting to see if the date changes. FF will go to any level of deviousness to cover themselves.
Everybody should watch out for any signs of a date change and make sure it gets a high focus in the Public arena.

Its not that big a deal in media terms, and its probable that the rate of job loss will have slowed again, as it did in the April stats.

If you can see it, how can it be unforeseen? Or should I take this as a Rumsfeldesque statement a la "unknown unknowns" etc.?

Perhaps because the opposition needed points of clarification and arranged.....sorry, caused a delay?
