Thanks Munion for the link and history lessons but I still think that Turkey is culturally Middle Eastern and not European and geographically it is largely in Asia Minor.

In the past there were Greek settlements along the Dalmatian coast. The fact that there were such settlements in the past does not make countries such as Croatia and Montenegro Greek today.
