Is it illegal to pull down posters?

I dont have a problem with paying people to put them up, but surely they should not take them down.

Assuming that they are being paid from the election expenses of the candidate, if not, it could be a way to bypass donation rules (rather than donating money, you 'donate' some of your worker's time).

No, rules are fairly clear. A donation of time has to be declared at its monetary value if it's the time of employees. Volunteers are another matter.

Interesting points and i hope are followed up by some of our more ernest media readers.

I believe this is a classic lo-fi exmaple of the addiction Fianna Fail have to their builder friends level and shows they have more loyalty to these than the state truly they really don't give a rats ass to be seen to change.

They are still the builders party to the ultimate collapse of our economic sovereignty, forget any dewy eyed nationalism we are only one default away from another banana on the tricolour.

Despite the fact Ahern is a losing bet its all been done to raise his profile to hold on to his council seat according to the papers today.

Why am I not surprised so few see this of any great note. Such details go overlooked over time leads us to a position where 50 or less individuals can bring an entire nation to the brink with the compliance of a criminally insane cabal. To say Nero fiddled while Rome burned is a gross understatement we are plagued with Neros everywhere we look.

So while ye all fight the political fight for what its worth you are fighting over a dead corpse. There is nothing here to win.

Wright construction built this it for sale and rent. It seems to have hit the market on the wrong side of the hump, Swan Lake, Islandbridge, Dublin 8, South Dublin City - House For Sale

Anyone putting up election posters for FF should be ashamed of themselves whether they are doing it for money or not.

I don't know if you watched the youtube clip at the start of this thread but you'll see clearly two of these guys can't speak English and probably don't know much about FF the third guy denies working for Fianna Fail directly.

You can't fault a few lads for doing a bit of overtime if that what available in the current collapse in that industry. I thin clear they don't care for FF in any meaningful way.

FF can only buy support now and if not perhaps they must rely on donation from commercial interests such as construction companies who use their hapless workers to do the bidding of a failed, ideologically vacuous party.

Doing a simple CRO Company Search here: Companies Registration Office

    and inserting wright construction for both the Company and Business Name Search options yields 2 results;

A Business Name known as DUNNE WRIGHT CONSTRUCTION, GRANGECLARE, KILMEAGUE, NAAS, CO. KILDARE.

And a Company known as VICTOR WRIGHT CONSTRUCTION LIMITED 10 WHITEROCK HEIGHTS WEXFORD

NOTE - I am not inferring that either of the above are the same entity as the Wright Construction on the Jackets in that Vid as this may not necessarily be the case ... just simply showing what the CRO Site yields when the search term Wright Construction is entered

You can check for yourselves if you wish by doing the Search

Poster boys link Ahern to construction group

Standards in Public Office Commission warns that if a developer allows its staff to put up election signs for free, it can still amount to a political donation

    Sunday May 24 2009

IT appears that there may still be links between the developers and Fianna Fail, certainly if the identity of some of the poster boys for Maurice Ahern are anything to go by.

Caught this week on YouTube was a van-load of Eastern European construction workers erecting Ahern posters on lampposts in Dublin Central. They did not speak much English -- but they were able to confirm that they did indeed work for Wright Construction, which is based in Howth and is part of the Wright seafood 'n' politics dynasty.
