    seniors solidarity party

We are new National Party formed by John Wolfe after budget 2008. We are contesting this local election in Fingal. We are getting huge support both locally and from all around the country. In this Election we are concentrating on the issues of the Elderly. They built this country and are now cast aside. It is unbelievable what our Canvassers are meeting on the door step. Either the Househod is destroyed or they are living in terror of losing their jobs and all they worked for. Also, who is going to look after their parents as they see this Government take everything away from the piece by piece. The people are crying out for someone to trust, they see now the lies of FF and they can also see that FG and LAB have no interest in the people of this country. They used our Recession to just try and get higher in the polls, ignoring and unwilling to help the people of Ireland during this horrific time.
Our party are just beginning and will most likely have to change Name as we go Nationwide on all issues. But one thing is certain, the people in Fingal have demonstrated to us the bitterness they have for all parties in the Dail. We are going forward but the main difference is we will have a membership of young and old who know what it is like to be treated like dirt in a so called Democracy. We will have people who will come from all Sectors of industry and Public and we will know the way. We will have the skills to manage an open, transparent, honest Democracy devoid of corruption.
Please come and join us wherever you are in the Country.

    Just raised a query on another Thread you posted in re this party at the same time you opened this Thread... but you've answered the questions in the above;

    1. This party intends to cover issues in addition to the elderly ones following the June LE.

    2. This party will be changing its name from Seniors Solidarity Party as it will have to in order to encompass issues other than elderly ones .... I assume it will prob be changed to the "(something) Solidarity Party"

why is it the seniors solidarity party? Surely you need to change at least that? What are your policies in regards to health, education, crime, the economy, the public sector etc. Thanks

Will your public rallies include shouting down politicians of other parties? I'm serious too. I didn't like the way the anti medical card withdrawal protests went, I felt they were quite undemocratic. Are you simply going to be a protest party. How do you actually propose to improve the health service, are you prepared to support redundancies in the HSE and the sacking of some of its incompetant managers? Are you in favour of tax increases to fund the health services? I think you have to make some of these issues clear if you want to be taken seriously.

They do intend to change that - it's mentioned in their OP

so it is! Have a habit of flying over opening posts at times. Yes thats the first step. But what are the Solidarity parties priorities and policies? Its a tough Dail nowadays given that you also have Labour, the PD's, Sinn Fein, the Workers Party and indpendents competing.

The "terror of losing their jobs" that you mention hardly impacts on folks who are already retired, now does it?

Can you explain why you think over-65s should be completely insulated from the inevitable cuts?

Without resorting to platitudes like "we built this country". This country was a complete train-wreck when most of the current crop of over-65s were in positions of power and influence.

Senior citizens understand this, you are the ones responsible for the mess we're in, in the 1970s, 1980s and up to the present day(most recently in 2007) you have repeatedly voted FF in to power and supported and benefited from the naked gombeenism & political corruption that comes with that party. You have ********************ed up our country and my future because of your greed. Now you want more special attention and privileges? ******************** off.

I find myself agreeing. Wasn't the boom in house prices one of the biggest wealth transfers from the young to the old ever? You got the cards back why not just play bowls, go to Sonny Knowles concerts and try stopping your houses from smelling?

If ye are so concerned about "our country"

    Why not,

    Return you free medical cards,
    Pay your TV Licence,
Reject the free ESB, heat etc,
Limit your free travel to buses....

I'm sorry but if you called at my door I wouldn't be so nice.
