They were all dire. Sheer nonsense on national issues, It came down to how many primary schools would be built.
Any government with sense would hand local school building over to the local authorities.

The Green Party in Ireland is Green only in name and in brain.
enablers of the ZANU-FF regime too...
how sad.
Roll on the GE !
Quite amusing.
Though the most annoying part of the debate was whn PK asked the attendees why the people of Sth Dublin should vote for them, Shay Brennan went into a monologue, which to paraphrase said at last someone is talking about the people of Sth Dublin blah blah blah- the fool does not even realaise that one of the many reasons we are in the sh*t is that people vote in General Elections on local issues- "what can my TD do for me" as opposed to what can my TD do for the country.
I didn't hear her but natural gas is a relatively green fuel. Unlike coal and oil it is almost completely combusted producing CO2 and H20. The sulphur and other contaminants in coal and oil cause much of the poluting effect. Of course it produces carbon dioxide whic his a polutant in greenhouse gas terms but this is generally less than other carbon fuels due to better efficiancy. Nearly everything we do produces CO2 anyway so in relative terms natural gas is a green fuel, just not as green as windmills, possibly more than solar cells in these latitudes.
A very bad performance, no question. Obviously what she meant was that Natural gas is the cleanest and least greenhouse gas emitting of the fossil fuels, but failed spectacularly to make that clear. Oh well.

What do you expect from a party that think sthe answer to our energy problem is light bulbs, the energy that will be saved in Ireland by this crazy idea in year will probably be used in China in a couple of seconds. But of course Ireland has to lead the way and soon we will be growing our organic tomatoes in Rush with mercury filled lightbulbs?????
I'm no greenie but isn't natural gas green in the sense that when it's burned it doesn't have emissions, maybe thats what he meant. Any opinions?
Yerrah, she probably was thinking about the likes of bio-gas.
Sure, does any remember the LPG for cars craze a few decades ago? Wasn't it claimed to be cleaner (greener) than petrol or diesel?
