'Sorry I missed you' cards ....by God am I sorry I missed you!

I know its a regular occurance at elections but is there a higher number of 'sorry I missed you' cards from FF this time around?
Have heard of whole estates having them delivered and not an FF candidate in sight.
And the funny thing is, unlike many previous elections, voters really want to meet their FF reps to give them an earful.

One of my friends told me that he got a ''Sorry I missed you card'' from Labour, The Greens & FF all delivered by the same person, who also delivered Lidl, Woodies, Dominos and a local taxi company flier all in the same go. They then went on to further pad out his wheelie bin, nice to know our would-be elected reps are showing such regard for people for making sure they have nice full bins that have to be emptied every week?

Its a sign of the complete disregard that we are being shown by all parties with this blatant lie - ''sorry I missed you!'' implies the candidate called and you were out, as though they had gone to the effort of canvassing you for your vote, by having these cards mass delivered what they are really saying is ''Listen, I couldnt be arsed calling around you're area for whatever reason, so I am going to be dishonest and make like I did''.

To be fair, you rarely hear from County Councillors from one end of the electoral period to another, why should the election be any different?
If I could mass-sterilise the planet, I would. Seriously.

Yup, people are pretty mad about these down my way too... especially when they are watching telly in the living room, and see someone coming up the path, hearing the letterbox click but no knock, and then find the "Sorry I missed you card"

What has been very noticable this time, especially compared to before, is the number of "pre-printed" sorry cards.

These aren't going down well at all. I make sure to hand write on the leaflets/canvass cards, and also in most cases, personalise them, with "Sorry I missed you Mary/Sean/Mick etc" giving them some indication that I know them and care about the fact that I missed them

But do you actually care you missed them or are you just giving the impression that you missed them?

Of course I care.. I've no problem meeting people on the doorsteps.. in fact, since I left SF and ran Indo, and with the tide out against FF, its never been easier to canvass.. I'd love to be able to meet every single voter to be honest

Any candidate worth their salt will date such a message and write it in obvious blue ink
