Some former League members are now with Libertas, so it was interesting to hear what Radio Maryja says. One of the monks spilled the beans. He said that the group is "not purely Polish". He also called it an "Irish, international group which is aiming at the creation of a European superstate".

Yup, Libertas candidates in Poland seem to have ditched pan-Europeanism in favour of old-fashioned Polish anti-German nationalism.

Hope the Libertas Partei Deutschland folks don't get to hear about this one:

Dzisiaj politycy Libertas zapowiedzieli, że będą domagać się przyjęcia rezolucji w Parlamencie Europejskim wzywającej Niemcy do wypłacenia Polsce reparacji za straty poniesione przez nasz kraj w trakcie II wojny światowej.
Libertas politicians today announced that they will insist on the adoption of a resolution in the European Parliament calling on Germany to pay Poland reparations for the losses incurred by our country during World War II.

The main part of the story is pretty ironic: Libertas complaining to the Polish prosecutor that candidates from another political party, PiS (Law and Justice), have misused funds from foreign sources.

One hundred million dollars AND a fireworks factory. Walesa did well from this gig. I hear he also got a box of puppies too.
    A poster of some consequence...
