Um, they're definitely not Cambrian, because there was no known land life at all during the Cambrian. The earliest salamander fossils are actually mid-Jurassic (161 MYa - the Permian ended 251 MYa). However, salamanders are still evolving, as are we (quickly in our case, slowly in theirs). For example, the upthrust of the Tibetan Plateau caused a major salamander speciation event about 50-40 MYa, and the creation of the Ailao Shan range in China 25 Mya caused another one.
Moral: don't mess with geologists using evolutionary analogies.

Never let the best be the enemy of the good.
Nice mention of Libertas interns and Lech in the Sunday Business post
Sunday Business Post | Irish Business NewsThe website of Libertas was advertising, not so long ago, for interns to work on the European election campaigns, promising them ‘‘the experience of a lifetime’’. That’s one way of putting it. It might be an idea not to let the interns write the press releases, though.
From two Libertas press releases issued in quick succession last Friday, publicising a speech by Lech Walesa to the Libertas convention in Rome:
‘‘Mr Walesa founded the Soviet Union’s first independent trade union, Solidarity, and spent many years campaigning for human rights in the former Soviet bloc.”
And then: ‘‘Lech Walesa was President of Poland from 1990 to 1995, and was the first leader of Solidarity, Poland’s first independent trade union, not ‘Soviet’ as previously stated in an earlier e-mail.” Darn Wikipedia.
imagine these cretins running Europe
Reported in EUobserver that Mr Walesa has admitted that he was paid to speak at the convention. He refused to disclose the sum but another example of Decko getting out the wallet to get his way.
I don't see that on the page you link to, steady. Can you confirm.
EDIT: Oops, I see it. It's in the "news n brief" section:
With the news that in Ganloopy's new book he appears to think that the EU is a vast, tyrannical communist conspiracy organsied by that well-known Maoist mole, José Manuel Barosso, this must surely put paid to their shenanigans. Even its most ardent admirers must now concede that Liebertas is clearly a fraud, .Polish Nobel Prize winner Lech Walesa admitted in an interview with daily Gazeta Wyborcza that Libertas paid him to speak at its congress in Rome last Friday, where he wished the anti-Lisbon treaty party "success." "I wouldn't do it for free," he told the newspaper, but refused to disclose the sum.

The enemy of my enemy is the enemy of my enemy. There are lies, damn lies and Fine Gael confusions. "I don't understand." Alan "it's only 79 punts" Shatter
The Irish Times said there were 1,200-1,500 at the convention. It didn't look like that from the streaming - did anyone do a head count?
Policies
So - still no published policies.
After Lech walesa's admission that he was paid to speak the question may be how many of the 1200 to 1500 were rent a crowd.
