Wow, what an open mind you have, dismissing something you haven't even seen yet!

They will be written guarantees from sovereign governments, completely worthfull in fact.

This time, by closely associating herself with eurosceptics and conservative family values campaigners in the European parliament, and through associating with the likes of UKIP, she has severely narrowed her appeal and alienated a large chunk or her original base. She is seen more this time not as a disability rights campaigner but as a family values eurosceptical campaigner and that is a far smaller pool of support to target.

In addition her strong association with people in one wing of eurosceptism (right wing, family values) means she will not have a universal appeal among left wing Eurosceptics, for whom many of her views are an anathma.

So she goes into this race with a narrower appeal, a more right wing appeal, and not as before as a non-politician disability rights campaigner with a novelty factor.

So in reality she is likely, if in the running at all, to be in the running for the last seat. The fact that she appeals to, and is supported by, Libertas, pretty much ensures most left wing No voters will not touch her.

So I don't think she is likely to get elected.
Very good assessment Tommy. I gave her my number 2 last time based on the disability issue. I wouldn't give her the steam off my pee politically now, as much time as I have for her work on disabilities. I'm seriously considering not voting in the Euro election at all. I haven't heard of one candidate yet in the South constituency that would inspire me to vote for them.

There is nothing secret about it. The question's been asked countless times and been asnwered countless times, yet you still refuse to believe the answer despite no proof at all to anything indicating anything else but the answer given.

You know, one definition of madness is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Are you guys that mad?

Obviously "worthy" wasn't good enough. Maybe it's a new word to be used in place of "worthy" just like legally non binding binding legal guarantees are used in place of protocols or even declarations. You know, things that actually mean something.

Only problem is, the answer you give is so vague as to be completely meaningless.

Methinks that if Lisbon was the main issue in this election in the eyes of the voters, they would be doing better. At present it looks like for the most part the electorate will revert to doing one thing in a referendum and a different thing in an election. We need to get people in Euro elections to vote on EU issues. Otherwise, the country will again have repetitions of the chasm between public-opinion and those of its elected representatives in EU referenda, which I believe is unhealthy. The important thing imho is to maximise the "no" wing among the Irish cohort of MEPs. Acheiving that does not depend on Libertas or any one party. It also depends on Independents and SF. It is quite possible that people on the no side who dislike Libertas may vote SF or Indo instead. When Independents are taken into account, an increase in the anti-Lisbon cohort of Irish MEPs remains a possibility, and with six weeks to go, it remains all to play for. From a personal point of view, had I been advising Libertas, I would have advised them against some hostages I believe they have left to fortune.
