any chance Pat Cox will run in GE?

Does anyone think Pat Cox will run in the next GE?
There was speculation before the last Euro elections that the PDs had approached him to rejoin.

I imagine they would be happy to have him run in the next GE and he could concievably run in any of the Munster constituencies seeing as he represented the whole province in the EP.The PDs could do with a candidate in Cork NC or Waterford where they once held seats.

Or as Cox has a national profile and used to live in Dublin they might find a constituency for him there.

Alternatively maybe FF of FG could persuade him to run for them.

For someone who appeared to relish the political limelight, his late disappearance from the political scene seems rather strange.

I wouldn't write this off as a possibility. Although apparently Harney and himself don't get along too well I think, and I doubt McDowell would to be too keen on setting up another potential leadership contender.

The loyal MullahStaff will see to it that he doesn't by whatever means must.

He should consider setting up shop with Liz O'Donnell ? Could then legitimately claim to be the liberal party ?

Somehow I doubt Cox would want to languish on the backbenches with all the other pointless Independents

So would the Mullah's group be the Official PDs and the new group be the Provisional PDs. Or would the Mullah's mob be the Real PDs and the others be the Continuity PDs? So many opportunities for satire.

I find myself agreeing, yes mcdowell would do all he could to oppose it (along with parlon im sure) and liz well im not sure, how did they get on last time?

certainly it would actually be a liberal party then, instead of the conservative neo-liberal mess theyve become -
so two purest variations of so called liberal themes, i know which one would get a transfer and which one wouldnt!

and just think, with everyone predicting clare daly gets a seat and with all those independents you could create another 2 -3 more parties - great fun!

hell, why not bring back clann na poblachta and clann na tamhlan!
    the more the merrier!
