Sinn Féin to top the Poll in Ireland north

According to Paddy Power book makers Sinn Féin are favourite to top the poll in the EU constituency of the north of Ireland.

    Slugger O'Toole

So on a good day Pádraig Mac Lochlainn, Barbra De Brún and Mary Lou McDonald could be the three Sinn Fein MEPS representing Ireland in Europe.

NW European candidate to address Lisbon Treaty meeting Apr 15, 8:57 am
Donegal Councillor Padraig MacLochlainn is in Europe today addressing a meeting which is hoped will establish a europe wide opposition to the Lisbon Treaty.

Councilllor MacLoughlainn, who will contest the European Elections in the Northwest constituency, says it is time for the people of Europe to focus on the real negative impact the Lisbon Treaty will have.

He claims the Irish government continues to ignore the concerns of the people.

How come there has been no mention of this anywhere? I have not been able to find the meeting that was taking place or the result.

I think its unlikely but with Jim Allister as spoiler who knows.

There is a real shot at getting two nationalist MEPs.

Thanks for that. I have not been able to find anything on this at all. A bit depressing really.

    Ulster Lad, the way the system works is;
if you are an unelected right wing multi millionaire like Ganley you get all the press you like.
If you get over 8,000 votes like Pádraig in the GE and you’re from Sinn Féin you get jack.

You gave a link to Slugger which had Dods leading

"Worryingly Paddy Power - who had SF as slight favourite to top the poll now seem to have withdrawn betting on Norn Iron Euro Election."

Hardly goes along with your triumphalism that

Sinn Féin to top the Poll in Ireland north

Paddy Power had them at slight favourites, now they're not listing it

    Mary Lou has no chance.
