Unfortunately, majority of those immigrants cannot be respected at all.
    Could give me -
    Names of those candidates?
Way, which they used to stay here (IBC, asylum, humanitarian grounds)?
How much money each of them received through welfare benefits?

    First example
I will be very surprised if Elena Secas got permission to stay here different from IBC

I have a big suspicion, that majority of them(except Polish), abused system and cannot be trusted at all

Why would their legal status matter once they are here legally?
Also why would the amount they received in welfare benefits matter?

Would you equally hold Irish citizens born here to similar disclosure standards or is it just because they are foreign?
And why are you certain that the Polish are the only ones that are honest?
Ireland interests are best secured within a more dynamic EU. Vote YES to Lisbon.

Because they came here to abuse a system.
If some of them were working hard from beginning and contributed a lot of taxes for Ireland, I don’t mind to see them elected.
Unfortunately, Irish politic is corrupted too much now and I don’t see any reasons to import corrupted politics from abroad.

At least, they didn’t had to lie in order to came here and get benefits

Only Polish could come here legally, without lie and abusing system

I see MPACIE have taken Fianna Fail's Muslim son to task for daring to say he represents Muslims: MPACIE - Does this man represent YOU?

Could you rephrase, because that doesn't make any sense.

So you just don't like people abusing the welfare system. Finding out how much money someone received from welfare will not tell you if they abused the system, it will only tell you how much they received.

So you think that the Irish people that are lying to get benefits aren't lying, even though they actually are? You do realise there are in fact Irish people lying to get benefits?

Right, so the others that are here who didn't lie or abuse the system (because there are in fact ways of getting into Ireland legally and legitimately) don't count in your mind somehow?

Can you stop talking rubbish? You have no proof about any of these people that they lied or came here to scam. You are making sweeping accusations about groups of people without any proof. You seem to have a large chip on your shoulder and the sooner you do something about it the better. Just because someone receives welfare that doesn't preclude them from running for office.

Anyone who runs foul of that lot must have something going for him.

    That's tripe.

All citizens of other EU states (excluding Romania and Bulgaria until 2014) are entitled to come to live and work in Ireland. Even citizens of Romania and Bulgaria may come to work here if they're self-employed.

In addition, there are plenty of legal avenues open to other immigrants wishing to live and work in Ireland.

To claim that all non-Polish immigrants are living in Ireland as a result of lies and abuse of the immigration system is utter nonsense.

Indeed, I canno se what's what with "immigrants, it's not like it's got any baggage, especially wwith this country's history of emigration.
The Mahon Tribunal found Olivia Mitchell to have received an inappropriate payment from Frank Dunlop at the time of the 1992 Election. F.G. Gael has taken no action against her.
