In a country of 80 million people they can't get 4000 signatures? That's just bad management or laziness. You could set up the "I love Giovanni Trapatoni Party" and still get 4000 signatures for God's sake.

Who said I supported Lisbon? I have many reservations about Lisbon and did not exercise my franchise in disgust at the way the official parties completely failed to 1/ put their case
2/ Take the threat of the far right and private interests seriously.

I personnally felt that the established parties deserved the wake up call.

What I have more reservations about is US Defence contractors buying elections.

Because let's be clear about this - this anti-Ganley campaign isn't really about Libertas and Ganley per se - it's about trying to foist Lisbon on the Irish people. Stopping Lisbon, imho, matters far more than the fate of a political-party. We will not accept that Treaty and when we vote no again the Lisbon-Taliban will have to accept that.

We should set up the "Libertas Challange" - aim to get 4000 German signatures in one weekend. Maddest political platform wins.

I'd say you could get them on the streets of Dublin - no need to even go to Germany. Plenty of Germans here.

Yes and they were collecting in the street and outside railway stations etc.

I think the Germans are not politically naive as some other countries which are only beginning to relearn democratic ways.

German will never support a main stream far right party. They are also close enough to the countries where the far right make up all of Libertas support like France, Poland , Slovenia and the Czech republic to know the score.

here we have Cookie monster trying to tell us black is white, there they know the score.

What about a weekend in Germany? I bet six of us could get 4000 signatures in two days.

This is what happens when you send dummies in search of signatures:

Maybe they should have dressed up as animals:

Anyone seen the 'How much does a vote for your national party count?' gadget on the libertas.eu home page?

They claim that 'With a vote for Libertas, you can win 785 seats' (i.e. all the seats in the European Parliament!).

Guess they'll have to change that claim now.
