How can nearly 1/3 of the voters tink that FF could still be worthwhile?
I presume this is confirmed?. The Green figure sounds suspiciously high, & SF a bit lower than I would have expected. A hypothetical Dail from these figures would be something like FG 60, Lab 25+, Greens 6-7 (see caveat above), SF 6-7 also (ditto), FF at best 50. FG & Lab might bring in the Greens as an extra onion skin, seeing as they're not likely to rock too many boats on the basis of their recent performance.
To put this in perspective:-
- it is FF's second worst result in a RedC tracking poll ever
- it is FG's second best result in a Red C tracking poll ever
- it is Labour's second best result in a Red C tracking poll ever
- it is the Greens 4th best result in a Red C tracking poll ever
- it is Sinn Féin's 10th best result in a Red C tracking poll ever
There is no denying it is a morale-booster for the Greens, although I suspect it may be temporary. The poll was taken in a sort of "phoney-war" situation where people are waiting to see what happens at the "social partner" negotiations.
Looking at this country and this government is like watching a slow-motion car-crash.
Vive le Québec libre ! Ag beathú na dtochardán ón mbliain 2007.
