The only thing that pile of junk is fit for is a museum of technological crap. It was out of date when the technologically pig-ignorant cretins in the government bought them. They never worked properly. They were totally insecure. The software was faulty. Some people made a lot of money from this. They should be identified and investigated. The money should be recovered from these people or their estate.

let's see bout a suitable Advertisement .... "Electronic Voting Machines for sale - highly advanced - accuracy may be guaranteed with proper calibration"
Maybe Mugabe might be interested in them?
John Gormley needs to pull his finger out and get rid of these bloody machines.

I'm generally sympathetic to the Greens, apart from Eamon Ryan, but these machines send me into a fit of rage.

If anything demonstrates the uselessness and indecision of this government its those stupid evoting machines. Most governments would have held their hands up and despatched them to the dump by now, and hire a few gardai or something like that in their place.

The people would respect the government more if they admitted defeat and destroyed the machines. It takes courage to admit when you are wrong. Sure it would be in the headlines for a day. But of course this government will do anything to stay out of the headlines and we the people must pay for that vanity.

Jesus Christ. Is there any plan to use these machines eventually or what ? Is there any official policy apart from paying the storage fee in perpetuity ?

What does Cowen et al actually do ? I could make a decision in 10 minutes about this. If the machines are any use at all why cant we sell them? If they are not worth anything then just dump them.
