LEITRIM '09 - local guvvament elecshuns

Who's going to fix the roads now the piggy bank is empty?

Will the "blueshirts" & the "publican" party see sense, bury their 'differences(???)' and merge into a new SUPER PARTY - finny fael.... you're all invited?

Will SF sweep to power as leitrim regrasps her republican heritage?

Will the Greens have the brassneck to show face and let us all have a good laff at their pricipled defence of the enviroment, from underneath the cabinet table? cfl's for everyone in the audience....

    Independents? yeah.... right

And, really, who isn't ecstatically delighted at the overdue demise of ireland's own Naz.... sorry - the PDs?

It's going to be a fun n frantic 6 months up the Old Bog Road

    see y'all on the canvass!

    DIMITRI

i WAS going to mention Labour but, frankly.... wot's the point?

Sinn Fein will do well in Leitrim, should take 3 if not 4 seats this time around. They have an awful lot of work done on the ground and have been preparing for this election in the Dromahair area for the last 3 years.

Its true some one must lose a seat. There is one FF councillor retiring. I cant see the Sinn Fein poll topper at last election losing seat, can you Leitrim Observer?.

Well Ploon he may not loose his seat, but i can't see him topping the poll again and I think he will be fighting for the last seat. He has deffinately lost a lot of ground since the general election.

I think John Joe McGirl country is finished, drumkeran and manorhamilton are the only places left in leitrim that have committed republicans.

Dont know about that. There are commited republicans all over the county. I dont think Mc girl country is finished.Seen a show in library in ballinamore recently, it was packed out. There has been growth in Nth Leitrim.
