    Date for the Locals?

Someone said before the locals would be held on June 12th 2009 to coincide with Euros on same day.. However Enda Kenny said on Tubridy Tonight (or some show he was on so many over the weekend!) that the members would be ready for an election on June 4th?

    ???

i wouldn't put money on it, i've yet to see counting for a election not to be held for more than a week after polling.

I don't think there is any doubt the locals and euros 2 will be on the same day. 11th June if the hotels are booked. I know Bertie talked about the first week in June but the combined date makes prudent sense.

According to the European Parliament Office the Euros are on from the 3rd to the 7th June. If that is the case the Elections in Ireland will take place on the Thursday or Friday - followed by the Local Count and then followed by the Euro count.

the euros are mandated to be held on the same day each term, unless memory fails me the locals have always been held the same day ( my memory isn't that long however), so reckon if euros are on friday 5th june then so will the locals
