I wouldn't write Ryan off... I know an awful lot of people who detest Fianna Fáil who are voting everything but FF in the locals but are voting number 1 for Ryan in Europe because they smell Sinn Féin blood.

Sorry, if people don't like Sinn Fein because they think they are too close to Fascism, why would they be voting for any of the pro Lisbon treaty parties, since the Lisbon treaty is very likely specifically designed to do to the European nation state Parliaments, what Hitler's Ermächtigungsgesetz Enabling Act of 1933 Gesetz zur Behebung der Not von Volk und Reich was designed to do to the Weimar Republic's Reichstag, that is turn them in to glorified talking shops and transfer all power to a clique.

Yes of course its so much better having our future being determined by Merkel, Sarkozy and their succession
We determine our own future. It's a shame you have such little respect for the Irish people that you think we are such pushovers that we need mammy Britain to save us from the dreaded Europeans. I'd choose co-operation with our European friends over the warm embrace of the British Empire any day of the week.
Going by the RTE/ Sunday Indo Exit poll released tonight, Mary Lou McDonald is taking the last Euro seat in Dublin. They were very accurate on the Local elections so we have to assume they are accurate on this. McDonald has it.
[QUOTE=setanta;1738525]You are such a w@nker. FVck off back to Britain you numpty and leave us to make our own minds up about the EU. It's a long time since we took instructions from British tories.[/QUOTE

An election cannot give a country a firm sense of direction if it has two or more national parties which merely have different names but are as alike in their principles and aims as two peas in the same pod.
