    Anyone now regret voting FF?

Is there anyone on this site who will be honest and admit they made a mistake in Voting FF? What do I mean by mistake-look at the economy for a start and the state of the public finances. There is no doubt that international factors are a factor in the economic downturn ,but we will probably have one of the top three worst economic performances in Western Europe so you cant blame it all on "international factors". As for the public finances, the Government singularly failed to prepare for the inevitable downturn in the housing market. The woeful state of the Health service is also there but anyone voting FF in 2007 knew that already!

    Come be honest!

We would currently have Enda Kenny as Taoiseach and Pat Rabbite as Minister for Finance*. No thanks.

We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns — the ones we don't know we don't know.

pretty futile question to ask here to be honest where 90% of regular posters are pretty committed in their party / political outlook. those here whom voted for FF would probably continue to do so almost regardless of what FF do or more's to the point don't do...... heck some of them would even vote for FF even if FF asked them not to....

Returning Officer:So instead you voted in the morons who created the mess! Obviously with the downturn those spending plans could not be put into operation. You gave speeding but comfortable mercs to those nit wits.

Ah there might be one honest soul out there-just one to restore my faith in humanity!

I gave a preference to the Greens, which is practically the same thing.

And yes I do regret it.

whilst the idea of Rabbite in the dept of Finance wouldn't exactly appeal to me either, that was not a given and to be fair FF, FG, Lab and others based a lot on the same or similar growth rate forecasts from the DoF or ERSI (can't remember exactly where), the difference i guess is how they would handle the current situation and on that one has to have little confidence in the current FF front bench

    Returning Officer.

And you believe that Cowen as Taoiseach and Lenihan as Minister for Finance are an unvarnished success.
At least Rabbitte had 2 1/2 years as a super junior in an economics ministry.
Remind me again of the qualifications of Oxbridge trained lawyer Lenihan to be Finance Minister.
And he was the best that Cowen could find.

You'd prefer Fianna Fáil to have more seats?

Same here. Only I gave them my #1

FF/PD didn't get a sniff of a #17 preference from me last time. Voted for everybody else, left all the FF/PD blank. Traitor gangster scumbags.

In fairness the Greens are trying to reign in the ramshackle planning (I use the word"planning" loosely) that occurred under FF/PD. Just heard today they are going to stop houses being built on flood plains-Mother of Divine Jesus-we have been building houses on land that has a high chance of being flooded??
