Ireland probably is the country where the Greens have the best chance of forming part of a government.Iceman may think that elections are pointless and that we should just assume the Rainbow won't have enough seats but I'd beg to differ.

All the polls suggest that there is currently a massive swing away from Fianna Fail to the three opposition parties in question.A swing of 25 seats is indeed quite a task but all the same is a real possibility.

The latter doesn't imply the former.

I doubt it. That's the same flawed argument that BarryW made on another thread.

Just because someone doesn't like Fianna Fail doesn't mean that they necessarily believe Fianna Fail will lose the next election, or that Fianna Fail junior will do well enough to take government themselves.

It is possible to dislike both Fianna Fail and Fine Gael, you know. My enemy's enemy isn't always my friend.

    FGer?

When or where did i say elections are pointless?

When or where did i say that i would prefer FF in Government?

Yes i do assume that the Coalition will not gain enough seats to form a Government, this is an opinion of mine. I just do not see it happening. Now answer the questions i put please.

I know Lithuania elected a Green Prime Minister a few years back-is he not still in power? Also, the German government has experienced something of a comeback in the polls, so it's no longer a certainty that they wont be reelected.

Here's an interesting piece I stumbled upon:

Greens demand two posts in Cabinet

Seems like we're in with a shot. It's supposed to be a close election too, so keep an eye on it [even if it is New Zealand].

That's interesting; I always thought that the Greens in NZ were more of an anti-establishment party, and weren't particulary bothered about government?
