Councillor Naoise Ó Muirí, who was also a candidate in Dublin Bay North in 2016, said the tweets were wholly unacceptable and called on Mr Walsh to apologise for them.
He said he had had his differences with Barry Walsh having worked with him, but also said he, Mr Walsh, had made a positive contribution to Fine Gael.

“He does have a mandate. He is elected by Dublin members to the Executive Council. That does not excuse his commentary.

“However, he does deserve due process like everybody else. Any member in Fine Gael involved in a disciplinary process deserves that,” he said.

He added: “At a personal level it is not an easy place for him to be at the moment, people need to beware of that.”

Councillor Naoise Ó Muirí is the only Fine Gael elected Representative in the area to publicly address the Walsh controversy in the media - albeit in an extremely watery and circuitous fashion.

Has there been any comment from Councillors Flanagan or Lavin on the matter or like Minister Bruton are they keeping schtum for fear of being too closely connected to the moronic Walsh?

Interesting does Cian have aspirations for the job?

He wouldn't be the worse choice all things considered.

No he isn't. The man told me himself back in 2014 when he failed to get re-elected. He'd be 76 in 2019.

Is your campaign for 2019 starting now Ciaran?

So you are just some guy who out of the blue decided to start endorsing a candidate who got 193 votes in the last election? Fair enough bro.

He was a pretty lousy sweeper if he only got 193 votes - also didn't he receive the nomination at the same time and the same night as his two running mates? That is not what constitutes a sweeper candidate.

I highly doubt the powers that be in FG orchestrated that mess or if they did they should be fired.

Then why not just run one or two candidates instead of three? It would have easily secured your one seat. Running three in a place like Beaumont-Donaghmede is called bad strategy.
