More bad news forr FF in todays Indo

Senan Moloney reports that the FF private polling also indicates that the 32% FF support at the moment may not be a rock-bottom baseline
    Crikey!

He also says that SF have strong pocketed support, and Fine Gael is on a strong upward trajectory in all areas

Tommy MacEllistrim could be in trouble in N.Kerry. He's doing or saying nothing. However, its hard to see where the challenge would come from outside of FF.

Norma Foley could make a comeback. The only obstacle to her running is that Bertie reputedly hates her almost as much as McEllistrim

Chief, I can't find where Moloney said that SF have strong "pocketed" support. Here is what I found: "The research found no one party benefited from the lost FF support, although both Sinn Fein and Fine Gael are on upward trajectories."

Apologies - that reference was in the original Tribune article, not todays Indo. I'm all confusssed!

But I was more interested in making the point that FF believe 32% may not be the rock-bottom....

Aplology accepted 8). BTW, I have seen FF put out this kind of "we're in trouble" kind of thing before. It tends to rally supporters.

Great to see SF are on an upward trend. I wonder how strong the trend is though.

Honestly, when was the last time that FF were in this much trouble?

Well, and this is just a local perspective, I remember everyone saying that FF were going to lose out to SF in the 2002 GE in N. Kerry. However, they rallied and won the 1st seat. Nobody - except me 8) - thought that Spring would lose out.

That may be a very narrow view of things, but I am always suspicious of private FF opinion polls appearing in the papers suggesting that FF are in trouble.

Maybe its the natural Kerry cynicism in me coming out.
