Fianna Fáil won 25% of the vote in 2009. They need to maintain this vote share just to stand still, let alone add in new blood.

They've gone from 17% to 18% in the space of a year meaning they may hit 20% come LE 2014.

That still means they lose 1/5 of their council seats!!!

Fianna Fáil need to turn this around fast, it's a sinking ship at the moment.
You wonder how long they will limp on before reality sinks in that the party is finished and they are formally dissolved.
Breathing new life into Fianna Fáil is like breathing new life into the Black and Tans.

The local factor will kick in at the locals. I expect them to hold their own at council level (which is in effect going backwards), and while their Euro vote will, I think drop slightly, they will manage to retain their three seats, unless Pat the Cope retires, in which case Ganley or Sinn Fein could be in with a shout.
Unenthusiastic about any of the buggers.

I agree - and RedC seemed to get the Sinn Féin share, at least, correct in 2011.
